Safeway’s Jackson Earns HR Honors

PLEASANTON, Calif. — Russ Jackson, senior vice president of human resources for Safeway here, has been named to the 2012 HR Honor Roll by Human Resource Executive magazine, the retailer said Monday. Jackson will be recognized at an event this week in Chicago.

"Russ is a transformational architect within Safeway," Larree Renda, Safeway’s executive vice president, said in a statement. "With his vision, insight and drive for results, he has built a human resources organization that is a powerful accelerator of change."

The magazine recognized Jackson for strengthening Safeway’s leadership development efforts including a program to recruit ex-military personnel for key roles.
