WASHINGTON — Save-A-Lot’s Fuel Your Family Road Trip made a stop here recently, when Sam Kass, assistant chef at the White House, joined officials of the discounter to make a donation to area hunger-relief programs. Save-A-Lot, a Supervalu banner based in St. Louis, donated $2,500 and 55,000 school supplies to the Capital Area Food Bank, providing 7,500 meals for area families.
