NEW YORK — Supermarket News will launch the “SN Hall of Fame” to recognize those people who have made extraordinary and lasting impacts on the food distribution industry. The Hall will be officially launched with SN's Dec. 3 issue, which will profile two or three retailer and/or wholesaler inductees.
In subsequent years, the Hall will be expanded to include people serving the industry in other capacities, such as in manufacturing, sales agencies, consulting, associations, labor unions and government.
This year's retailer or wholesaler inductees can be active, former or retired industry participants. A nominee's entire career will be considered. Attributes of those entered into the Hall will include: serving as a role model; having a lasting positive impact; vision; innovation; leadership; influence; courage; high standards; and ethics. SN's editors, in consultation with the industry, will make final decisions.
Those wishing to nominate candidates should visit SN's website at supermarketnews.com, where this week they will find a link to the nomination form under the box entitled “Hall of Fame,” or go to www.snap-surveys.com/prismb2b//sn07HallFame/sn07HallFame.htm. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 21.
