BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Southern Family Markets here said Monday it plans to open a new price-impact banner this week in Decatur, Ala., called Food World Discount Foods.
The store, set to open Wednesday, will focus on extreme value, bonus packs and large-pack offerings, according to SFM, which operates the Bruno's, Food World and Southern Family Markets banners in the Southeast and is affiliated with C&S Wholesale Grocers, Keene, N.H.
"We are very excited about this new format and all that it will offer the local residents," said Max Henderson, president of Southern Family Markets. "We know our customers are looking for more ways to save on groceries without sacrificing name brands or quality."
The offerings will include "Truckload Meat Deals," which package larger quantities of meat together for families and range in size from 20 to 238 pounds per package.
