Tesco Applies for Liquor Licenses in Phoenix

PHOENIX -- British retailer Tesco, which is planning to begin opening stores in Southern California, Las Vegas and the Phoenix area late next year, applied for 14 liquor licenses in the Phoenix area alone in the first three weeks of December, according to a report in the Business Journal of Phoenix. Analysts had previously told SN they expect the retailer to offer wine in its stores, which are expected to measure about 15,000 square feet and focus on prepared foods.
