TORONTO — Tim Hortons outlets will begin appearing in Wal-Mart Supercenters this fall, Wal-Mart Canada here said last week. The first outlets will open in Lethbridge and Edmonton, Alberta, and in Brockville, Ontario. The company said as many as seven will be open by early next year. With 2,733 locations in Canada, Tim Hortons is the country’s largest quick-service restaurant chain, known for its doughnuts but also offering soups, sandwiches and other products. The stores will be located near one of two entrances to the store and will include a counter and a seating area, Wal-Mart said. “We pride ourselves on having the brands our customers want on our shelves and under our roof — and we’re adding a true icon,” Ross Thompson, director of licensee operations for Wal-Mart Canada, said in a statement.
