LUBBOCK, Texas — United Supermarkets here said Friday it will unveil a new logo in late July at a remodeled store in Snyder, Texas.
The biggest change in the logo is the addition of a single star at the center of the word "United" — emblematic of the Lone Star State, the company said.
"We are a Texas company, and we've always been inspired by the spirit, independence and self-sufficiency of Texans," Monica Schierbaum, senior director of , said. "We've got small towns in our heart, and we want our stores to reflect the warmth and generosity you find in a small Texas town."
The new logo uses the same typeface for "United," except for the addition of the star; the word "supermarkets," which is printed in all capital letters on the old logo, is printed in all lower-case letters on the new logo.
Snyder is south of Lubbock, in the central part of Texas.
