PHOENIX — An all plant-based supermarket called VegCo Market is scheduled to open here early next year.
The 12,000-square-foot store will exclude all animal products and derivatives, including meat, seafood, dairy, eggs and honey, nor will any products sold contain any of those ingredients, according to the company's website.

VegCo will be membership-based, with consumers paying $50 per household to join — though the company will waive the fee for the first group of members in return for feedback they will provide, according to the website. In addition, low-income consumers can forgo the fee if they agree to volunteer a few hours with a local grower.
