Wal-Mart, Kimberly-Clark Receive VICS Awards

Wal-Mart Stores and Kimberly-Clark received 2007 VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards last week at the U Connect Conference.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Wal-Mart Stores and Kimberly-Clark received 2007 VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards last week here at the U Connect Conference. The awards, given by the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions Association, Lawrenceville, N.J., are designed to recognize excellence in supply chain collaboration. Wal-Mart, which received an award for Supply Chain Excellence, was cited for increasing the use of the VICS standard bill of lading (BOL) and improved accuracy of data. Kimberly-Clark, which received the Most Innovative on Supply Side award, was cited for using RFID data to identify stores not executing promotions properly. Other winners included Best Buy, Dillard’s, Nygard International, Agentrics, Merit-Trax Technologies and J.B. Hunt Transportation Services. Randy Mott, chief information officer for Hewlett-Packard and former CIO for Wal-Mart, received the Roger Milliken Career Achievement Award.
