Wal-Mart Worker Group Responds to Unions

MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. — An hourly worker at Wal-Mart Stores here has launched an employee group in opposition to groups that he said distort how the majority of Wal-Mart associates feel.

“It is my intent to make sure that America and the rest of the world can see that 86% of Walmart associates do love their job and are treated with respect and are offered amazing career opportunities,” Brandon Evano said in a written statement describing Associates Who Love Walmart. The group, which Evano said is not associated with or supported financially by Wal-Mart, operates a website at awlw.info and a Facebook page with more than 12,000 “likes.”

Evano said the page was created to combat publicity that groups like the union-backed group OURWalmart was receiving for its actions, including recent walkoffs, against the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer.

Union propaganda? You don't believe an employee could be happy with a company they work for or heaven forbid believe that it's a good company to work for? Another example of how Union's try to hurt business, ask the Hostess Union how that worked out!

I work on the other side of the fence. Sam's Club is also one of the best employers out there. Sure there may be an assistant manager who doesn't get "it". But as a whole the entire company is great. And shareholder's make the decision's not unions!

I work at Walmart and started as an unloader. I agree with AWLW and many other associates at my store feel the same. We don't need any UNIONS destroying our company! We have a great management team and I love working here!

And Costco pays double what Sam`s Club does. Don`t forget to thank the unions for the 5-day, 40-hour work week. Your welcome. Enjoy your right to defend inflated executive compensation...those guys deserve to take raises while not giving them to employees. And don`t forget to support the Hostess executives who are getting $1.8million in BONUSES for ruining an iconic company and firing 18,000 workers. Only two kinds of people attack workers` rights; greedy people and ignorant people. Get an education!
