Winn-Dixie to Close 3 Ga. Stores

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie will be closing three of its five stores in the Albany, Ga., area on or before March 5, a spokeswoman for the chain told SN Wednesday.

“Business conditions occasionally force companies like ours to make tough strategic decisions,” Rondel Cuyler, director of public relations for Winn-Dixie, said.

The closures would leave Winn-Dixie with two stores in the area: One on Old Dawson Rd. in Albany and another in nearby Leesburg, Cuyler said.

Winn-Dixie is a division of Bi-Lo Holdings, based here.

I love Winn Dixie.
I don't know the Georgia Market, yet, down here in Greater Miami it seems Independents and Publix, & Publix "Sabor" is kicking us in the teeth, and, for the life of me I don't know why we seem to be losing ground to these guys.

Turn me loose with your Homestead Store in Homestead / Florida City, Florida, it's inches away from a large independent that just opened. Between my 51 years as an American, my Cuban Blood & Market Experience, and, my 21 years with the leading Mexican Family in Anaheim,
CA in the Supermarket Business in So. California, I'll bring back Winn Dixie, for sure down here.

Please, hurry, Wal Mart Neighborhood Markets and Wal Mart Express Stores are coming.

Wal Mart will have a major impact in our Marketplace.

Again, I love my Winn Dixie and I want them to stick around, +
for everyone to keep their jobs.

Go Winn Dixie.
Best Wishes from Hialeah, Greater Miami, Florida.
