Winn-Dixie to Reopen Storm-Damaged New Orleans Store

Peter Lynch, chief executive officer of Winn-Dixie Stores, is scheduled to ring the opening bell of the NASDAQ exchange today in recognition of the retailer’s reopening of a store in New Orleans damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Peter Lynch, chief executive officer of Winn-Dixie Stores here, is scheduled to ring the opening bell of the NASDAQ exchange today in recognition of the retailer’s reopening of a store in New Orleans damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The 50,709-square-foot store will showcase Winn-Dixie’s latest design concepts, including a warmer color palette, wider aisles and self-checkout lanes. New merchandising features include a stand-alone deli, a chicken wing bar, a fire-burning rotisserie, a salad bar, an olive cart, a hot food bar and expanded meat and produce departments.
