Lidl sets 7 more openings this month

Lidl will more than double its U.S. stores before the end of the month, making announcements Thursday of another seven openings.

In addition to four sites already announced to open July 13, Lidl will open another three stores July 20 and four on July 27 — the latter all in the Richmond, Va., market.

The openings will increase Lidl’s store base to 21 stores – one more than the 20 Lidl officials had said would open this summer.

Opening July 20:

* Norfolk, Va.

* Rockingham, N.C.

* Spartanburg, S.C.

Opening July 27:

* Chester, Va.

* Richmond Va. (W. Broad St.)

* North Chesterfield, Va.

* Richmond, Va. (Laburnum Ave.)

The Chester store was not among the first 20 announced.
