A new Sendik’s Food Market was scheduled to open Thursday in Hartland, Wis., the retailer said.

The approximately 30,000-square-foot store is the 12th for the family-owned and operated retailer, which is based in White Fish Bay, Wis.

“[It] will be an exciting day for us as we meet so many new guests and neighbors for the first time,” said Ted Balistreri, one of the family co-owners of Sendik’s, in a blog post.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m., weather permitting.

Sendik’s entered into a contract to remodel vacant space in the Hartbrook Mall, according to a 2013 statement posted on the company website. The mall has been renamed Sendik’s Hartland Plaza.

The new Sendik’s has hired 100 new employees.

“The 100 new associates who have joined our team in Hartland are ready and delighted to bring the best grocery experience period, to Lake County,” said Balistreri.
