Funeral services are scheduled Saturday for Leonard Leum, former owner of Pioneer Markets in Los Angeles. Leum, 89, died Feb. 26. He began working at Pioneer Markets, an independent operation, in 1947 — one of the first 24-hour stores in Los Angeles. He purchased the company in 1966 and bought and sold various locations over the years before he retired. He is survived by five children and four grandchildren.
