AG Set to Resume Operations After Gustav

BATON ROUGE, La. — Associated Grocers here was scheduled to resume delivery operations last night following two days during which it was shut down due to Hurricane Gustav. A recording on the cooperative's main switchboard told retailers AG expected to reopen its computer room — "weather permitting" — at 7 p.m. last night and suggested retailers place orders using a dial-up system "as long as AG has power." The recording said AG would hold all orders "until we determine your status on Tuesday night or Wednesday.” The recording also advised vendors that AG expected to resume receiving product last night at 11 p.m. It also told employees to monitor the emergency mailbox numbers they were given for updates. "At some point, normal operations will resume," the recording said.
