C&S Wholesale to Procure Produce for Penn Traffic

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Penn Traffic Co. here said yesterday it has reached an agreement for C&S Wholesale Grocers to procure produce and deliver it to Penn Traffic’s warehouses. Terms were not disclosed. Penn Traffic said the agreement, which is effective March 1, would enable it to “benefit from cost efficiencies while expanding access to new and alternative products.” Penn Traffic, which operates 98 supermarkets and supplies another 121 stores as a wholesaler itself, said it “will continue to operate all of its existing warehouse and transportation functions, including the internal management of out-bound product delivery to its retail stores and wholesale customers.”
