UFCW Pickets Fresno Foods Co Store

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The United Food and Commercial Workers Union said it has begun informational picketing at a non-union Foods Co store in Fresno, Calif. According to UFCW Local 8, Golden State, based here, union volunteers began picketing the location of the Kroger-operated discounter Wednesday. The same group has picketed a Foods Co location in South Sacramento since July. “The decision by Foods Co to open new stores non-Union is hostile and anti-worker,” the union said in a statement. “It poses a threat to union market share and to the high standards of our members’ union wages and benefits.”
