Marsh Property Sales Valued at $12 Million

INDIANAPOLIS — Marsh Supermarkets here will reap about $12 million from the sale of 25 surplus properties, according to the auctioneer who conducted the sale. John Haney, general manager of Higgenbotham Auctioneers, Lakeland, Fla., said two properties are still for sale: a former Trio’s restaurant in Noblesville, Ind., and a former Marsh in Greencastle, Ind. Haney declined to identify the buyers of the other 25 sites, which were a combination of undeveloped properties and supermarkets that had previously been closed by Marsh and its parent company, Sun Capital Partners, Boca Raton, Fla. The sites went to a range of buyers from around the country, he said. The acquisitions are expected to close by Jan. 1, 2008.
