JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here has stepped up emphasis on its “Good ’Til” program of extended price reductions. In weekly circulars launched Wednesday, Winn-Dixie focuses on price specials “Good ’Til Fall” on more than 1,000 products discounted through Oct. 8. “In these challenging economic times, we are placing a stronger focus on highlighting the discounted items in our weekly circular in order to provide more savings to our valued customers,” Robin Miller, a spokeswoman for the retailer, said in a statement. As reported previously in SN, retailers in Florida have been broadcasting an aggressive price message, with Tampa-based Sweetbay adopting new price logos to illustrate its everyday low prices and Publix, based in Lakeland, adopting a new program offering extended price discounts on staple items like milk. These moves come as discounter Aldi prepares to enter the Sunshine State next month.
