WASHINGTON — Grocery Manufacturers Association here said yesterday it will stage its 2009 Executive Conference Aug. 30-Sept. 2 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. The invitation-only gathering of top retailer, wholesaler and supplier executives traditionally had been held in June at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. This year’s conference was canceled because of a labor dispute at The Greenbrier. The conference was relocated to The Broadmoor in 2009 because of the possibility that the labor dispute might still be unresolved next year, and it was moved to a later date to accommodate attendees’ personal obligations in June, a spokesman for GMA told SN. In future years, plans call for holding the conference even later in the year, he said.
