Blue Apron commits to sustainable seafood

Meal kit delivery service Blue Apron announced it is working with Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch to source sustainable fish and seafood.

Blue Apron said it would only source species that have been designated “Best Choice” or “Good Alternative.” It will also include educational information about Seafood Watch on all of its packaging.

“It’s our goal to make cooking seafood at home accessible to everyone,” Matt Wadiak, co-founder and COO for Blue Apron, said in a press release. “Seafood Watch takes a holistic approach to the health of the world's oceans. Their mission to preserve and regenerate the ocean is uncompromising. We cannot think of a better partner to advance our collective mission to support a healthy ocean and help consumers make better seafood choices.”
