Big Y opens nut butter station

Shoppers at Big Y’s Great Barrington, Mass. store can grind their own nut butters.

A new grinding station features fresh cashew, almond, regular peanut and honey peanut butters.

This is not the first specialty department Big Y has opened over the last year. As reported, the retailer opened a popcorn shop at its Tolland, Conn., store.

Additionally, the retailer debuted a bread machine at its North Branford, Conn., store that churns out fresh rolls all day.

The bread machine from Chabaso Bakery, a local artisan bakery, delivers warm ciabatta rolls from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Rolls cost 50 cents.
