Two of the major suppliers of DVD rental kiosks reported continued expansion of their programs yesterday. Redbox Automated Retail, here, said it will install its machines in more than 700 new locations this month, including supermarkets and McDonald‘s. Among the supermarkets are the Acme, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco and Shaw‘s stores of Supervalu, Eden Prairie, Minn. TNR Entertainment Corp., Houston, reported that it has installed 75 of its The New Release rental kiosks in stores of Publix Super Markets, Lakeland, Fla., during the first quarter, bringing that chain‘s total to 239. Redbox said it now has 2,900 locations nationwide, while TNR said it has 1,600.
