Jungle Jim’s Rolls Out System to Secure its Desktops and Laptops

FAIRFIELD, Ohio — Jungle Jim’s International Market here, a one-store independent known for its creative store displays, is rolling out Bit9 Parity to identify and stop unauthorized, unknown, rogue or malicious software from running on corporate desktops, Bit9, Cambridge, Mass., announced yesterday. The system gives Jungle Jim’s the ability to decide which applications are approved and appropriate to run, and it allows the company to specify policy for new, unknown software. Using this approach, the risks associated with all forms of unwanted software, including the next generation of attacks, are substantially reduced, said Bit9. “Now, with Bit9, we can control applications, standardize our PC images, as well as understand what is on our computers and keep unapproved software off,” said Will Bradshaw, network administrator, Jungle Jim’s, in a statement.
