SHFM Welcomes Ed Mugnani to Board of Directors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 4, 2024) – The Society for Hospitality & Foodservice Management (SHFM), the only association focused on Workplace Hospitality and Amenities in the Foodservice Industry, is pleased to welcome Ed Mugnani, Chief Operations Officer, Krafted Kitchen Collection, to its Board of Directors

For over 25 years, Ed has utilized his collaborative leadership style in off-premise catering, retail operations, fast casual, fine dining restaurants and workplace dining. Today, he is the COO at Krafted Kitchen Collection https://www.kraftedkitchencollection.com/, a sector of Compass Group USA, the leading hospitality, food and support services company in the U.S. Krafted Kitchen Collection is Compass Group’s latest concept interlacing various dining models “krafted” specifically for the changing needs of clients and guests. Using Compass Groups’ ever-growing network of catering kitchens, expansive portfolio of restaurant and food truck partners, Krafted Kitchen engages the community and uses those resources to scale experiential dining accordingly.

Ed encourages a mindset of being entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial to evolve business. He believes shared camaraderie is key and good ideas are generated from the entire team. Ed says, “My hospitality career has taught me that people come first, egos are checked at the door, and taking care of our clients, guests and team, by granting and anticipating needs is paramount to success.”

Ed received an A.S. in Hotel/Food & Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University and a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. He has served as the Chairman of the Illinois Restaurant Education Foundation; sat on the Board for the Illinois Restaurant Association; and is a member of the Society for Foodservice Management. Additionally, he sits on the Dean's Advisory Council for the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism at Florida International University. He believes growing the next generation of foodservice leaders is a good investment of his time.

In addition to his love for food and triathlons, he cherishes family time and the trips they take.
