BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Taking added service to the Web, Wal-Mart Stores is launching a group on social networking site facebook.com. Called “Roommate Style Match,” Wal-Mart’s group will allow college-bound users to take a decorating style quiz and compare the results to those of their future roommate. Style matches, or recommended products the users can buy at Wal-Mart, are automatically generated for each student so as not to clash with their roommate’s decorating style. Students can also download a shopping list, link to Wal-Mart’s website promoting “earth-friendly” products and click on Soundcheck, Wal-Mart’s website showing musical performances.
