SN is seeking nominations for its 2012 Sustainability Excellence Awards program.
The program, in its fifth year, will recognize retail and wholesale companies for exceptional leadership in promoting a sustainable environment through such initiatives as energy conservation, renewable energy, improved refrigeration, waste reduction, recycling, product design and transportation efficiency. The awards program is sponsored this year by Fleet Advantage.
Three winners will be selected, one chain retailer (operates 20 or more stores) one wholesaler and one independent retailer (operates fewer than 20 stores).
Nominations are welcome from anyone in the food retailing industry, including retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors, brokers, analysts, consultants and others; retail and wholesale companies may nominate themselves.
The deadline for nominations is July 20. Winners will be profiled in the Sept. 10 issue of SN.
