Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., said Thursday it has passed the halfway mark in its efforts to sustainably source all fresh and frozen seafood by the end of 2015. More than 51% of all seafood is responsibly caught or farmed, the company said in its sixth annual sustainability report, noting it has achieved a No. 2 ranking on Greenpeace’s sustainable seafood retail scorecard.
