CHICAGO — SN hosted its fifth annual Technology Excellence Awards dinner and ceremony last week at the Chicago Firehouse Restaurant, a remodeled firehouse built in 1905, where representatives of each of the winning companies received their awards. The winners were: in the chain category, Wegmans Food Markets; in the independent category, Mollie Stone's Markets; in the wholesaler category, Associated Grocers of Florida; in the online category, Grocery Gateway/Longo's; and in the international category, AEON. As in the past, the awards dinner was scheduled to take place alongside the Food Marketing Institute's Marketechnics show, which was co-located for the first time with the FMI Show. FMI is once again providing complimentary registrations to next year's Marketechnics show to each of the winning companies.
