Loblaw Provides Details on SAP Implementation

TORONTO — Loblaw here, which announced last month that it selected IT systems from SAP Canada, revealed yesterday that it will leverage the SAP NetWeaver technology platform and implement functionality from the SAP ERP application for enterprise resource planning and the SAP for Retail solutions to replace its legacy applications. Using a phased and structured rollout, Loblaw will use the technology to manage the company's order management, perpetual inventory, pricing management, financials, human resources and master data management. Catherine Booth, senior vice president, information technology, Loblaw, said the applications will “help us mitigate risk [and] allow us to be more efficient in our processes.”
