Meijer Selects Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Application

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer here has selected a retail-specific business intelligence and data warehousing application, as well as a consulting engagement, from QuantiSense, Atlanta.
Meijer will start the implementation with its merchandising team and expects to complete the initial phase in less than 100 days, said QuantiSense. QuantiSense will provide Meijer’s merchandising staff with role-based dashboards that present information for each user’s department. Meijer plans to expand the implementation into other areas such as supply chain services, executive management reporting and consumer insight.
The system “provides Meijer with a strategic platform for transforming the way we disseminate, report and act on information, and it will enable us to link the IT team’s operational objectives with the business team’s strategic and tactical decision making,” said John Agnew, director, merchandising services, Meijer, in a statement.
