Pet Supermarket Implements Location Optimization Software
Oct 15, 2007 8:00 AM
SUNRISE, Fla. — Pet Supermarket here, which operates 100 pet food stores, has licensed and is now using location optimization software from geoVue, Woburn, Mass., to open retail stores in new market areas, geoVue announced today. The chain is looking to add 20 stores a year and is focused on the areas that the software has identified as having the most potential. “We are using geoVue to understand exactly what customers like our stores,” said Diane Holtz, president of Pet Supermarket, in a statement. “GeoVue used our customer database of addresses to determine the demographics of customers where we are the most successful. Given that knowledge and other demographic information, geoVue will help analyze and select new market areas that are ideal for Pet Supermarket. As part of this process, geoVue can also project sales for individual sites. It’s early in the implementation, but we are very encouraged by the results so far.”
