Publix to Implement Workforce Optimization System
Apr 30, 2007 2:49 PM
LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix Super Markets here will implement the BlueCube Workforce Optimization suite from RedPrairie, Milwaukee, Red Prairie announced Friday. The system will provide scheduling technology in all Publix stores, at approximately 900 locations. The solution includes time and attendance, business forecasting, labor demand planning, automated optimized scheduling, associate self-service, dashboards with configurable alerts and computer based training. The system’s scheduling engine uses engineered labor standards along with historical sales, traffic patterns, special events, fixed tasks, and other items such as cases and pharmacy prescriptions to provide a view of labor required to meet customer demand, said RedPrairie. Employee roles, availability, and preferences are aligned with labor demand to produce work schedules that are then tracked against the system’s time and attendance tools.
