Bloom Marks Millionth Kiosk Interaction

SALISBURY, N.C. — The one millionth shopper interaction recently took place at the information kiosks in Bloom stores, a division of Food Lion here, according to Shop to Cook, Buffalo, N.Y., which manages the kiosk network. The interactive stations provide suggestions for meal planning and wine and cheese pairings, as well as recipes, a price checker and an item locator. There are six “getting info is a breeze” kiosks in each of the chain’s 52 Bloom stores in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. They are typically located throughout the supermarket in or near such departments as produce, meat, wine and organic/natural foods. “We have seen increased usage by guests of all ages,” said Robin Johnson, Bloom’s director of marketing and brand development, in a statement. “The millionth customer documented using the kiosk validates how accepted and valuable a tool it is.”
