LAKELAND, Fla. — In just five months, Publix Super Markets’ career-based Facebook page has generated more than 5,000 “likes.”
The page (facebook.com/publixcareers) provides information on job openings, along with career tips, chats with Publix recruiters, employee profiles and blogs, information on new store openings and more.
Recently, “Sherri,” a pharmacy recruiter, hosted a Facebook chat about gaining employment within one of Publix’s 870 pharmacies.
The retailer posts a “Career Tip” each Tuesday. “Having trouble getting the attention of hiring managers?” one recent career tip questions read. “Make sure your cover letter talks about the value YOU can offer Publix rather than the value the job can offer you.”

The site also lets prospective employees share career insights by answering a “Question of the Day.” One recent question read, “Think of your best boss ever. What did he or she do that brought out the best in you?”
The site, which launched Aug. 1, also has photos and first names of, and biographies on all 12 of its corporate recruiters.
