Richard Parkinson, retired president and CEO of Associated Food Stores, says that "the evolution of the food industry," especially the improving collaboration, was a highlight of his career. During his interview with SN Editor-in-Chief David Orgel and Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert at the 2012 FMI Midwinter Conference in Orlando, Parkinson also talks about the Intermountain West, which has largely been "insulated" from the economic challenges faced by much of the nation.
