Food Lion and Kraft Foods on the Power of Data-Sharing

Register now for this informative live webinar

Food retailers have increasingly come to recognize the value of sharing retail intelligence such as POS and inventory data with their suppliers. One of the largest data-sharing programs is Vendor Pulse, which Food Lion has launched during the past year.  The Salisbury, N.C.-based retailer, which operates more than 1,200 stores, now shares a wide array of daily retail data and scorecard calculations with more than 80 vendors in what has grown to be a mutually rewarding collaborative venture.

The data includes POS sales and units sold, store and warehouse inventory, shrink, out-of-stocks and reclamation items; it also features such scorecard calculations as service level and on-time delivery. Armed with this information, manufacturers such as Kraft Foods have been able to collaborate with the chain to improve service levels, reduce shrink and unsaleables, and improve promotional planning and allocation. The Vendor Pulse program has enabled Food Lion and its vendors like Kraft to achieve a higher level of dialogue and respond much faster to supply chain issues.

In this webinar, retailers and manufacturers will learn:

  • How Food Lion is able to easily share a broad range of data with dozens of suppliers.
  • How Food Lion and its suppliers collaborate by leveraging the data.
  • How the data helped Kraft cut out-of-stocks and increase sales.
  • How the data helped Kraft reduce reclaims.
  • How the data helped Kraft reduce in-store inventory.
  • The do’s and don’ts of data sharing.
