The Obama administration is promising many changes in the agencies that monitor the safety of the food supply. This webinar will explore how the government may change its food monitoring activities over the coming years and how that will impact food retailers, manufacturers and consumers. It will also look at how government and industry should collaborate to protect consumers. The webinar panel will include Dianna Pasley, director of food safety for Schnuck Markets and chair of the Food Marketing Institute’s Food Protection Committee; Robert Brackett, senior vice president and chief science and regulatory affairs officer, the Grocery Manufacturers Association; and Jill Hollingsworth, group vice president, food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Institute, a division of the Food Marketing Institute. Questions that will be addressed:

• What sort of changes in laws and regulations does the food industry need?
• Do the current legislative proposals meet those needs? Will legislation be enacted this year?
• What role should industry play in this new environment?
• How can industry and government best collaborate around food safety?
