'Ghost Brigade' Set for May 16
ATLANTA -- Turner Home Entertainment (T.H.E.) here has scheduled the release of "Ghost Brigade" for May 16 with a 180-day video-exclusive window. This Civil War thriller, starring Martin Sheen, Corbin Bernsen and Adrian Pasdar, preorders Tuesday.
Due out on May 23 are "The Water Engine" and "The Habitation of Dragons." These period films form part of T.H.E.'s "Screenworks Collection," a series designed to highlight the talents of six playwrights. Both have a retail price of $49.98. Preorder is May 9.
'Safe Passage' Is Due June 6
LOS ANGELES -- New Line Home Video will release "Safe Passage," a family drama starring Susan Sarandon and Sam Shepard, June 6. Preorder is May 23. Also due out in May by New Line Home Video is "Embrace of the Vampire." Preorder is scheduled for May 16, with the street date following May 30. This thriller stars Alyssa Milano and Best Supporting Actress Oscar Nominee Jennifer Tilly.
'Paper Moon' to Shine in June
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Paramount Home Video will release a "Directors' Series" edition of Peter Bogdanovich's "Paper Moon," the 1973 comedy. The release, along with nine other titles in the Unites States and 11 in Canada, comprises Paramount's current "Great Movie, Great Price" sell-through promotion for June. It streets June 20 at a suggested retail of $29.95.
Other Paramount videos planned for release in June include "Targets," "Daisy Miller," "The Thing Called Love," the theatrical edition of "Paper Moon," "The Day After," "Impulse," "Wayne's World II," "It's All True" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."
On June 6, Paramount Home Video will release three new-to-video comedy titles: "Brett Butler: The Child Ain't Right," "Elayne Boosler: Live Nude Girls" and "Paul Reiser: 3 1/2 Blocks from Home." Suggested retail for each of these comedy acts is $12.95.
