BALTIMORE — A federal judge here last week denied a motion to dismiss extortion and bribery charges against two former executives of Shoppers Food Warehouse and a state senator.
The defendants, former Shoppers President William White and R. Kevin Small, its former vice president of real estate, are accused of paying the senator, Ulysses S. Currie, bribes of nearly $246,000 over a five-year period in exchange for Currie’s influence on policy favorable to the grocery chain.
The case is set to go to trial here next month.
