DOVER, Del. — Giant Food of Landover, Md., returns, May 11-15, to the Dover International Speedway here with its Speedway Supermarket, a temporary pop-up store. This marks the second time that Giant Food operated a temporary store at the track during a NASCAR racing weekend.

The 5,000-square-foot Giant store stocked with 2,500 products will cater to racing fans and RV visitors attending racing events, which includes Lucas Oil NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, 200-mile 5-hour Energy NASCAR Nationwide Series race and FedEX 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Raceway officials declined to give projected or last year’s attendance figures for the weekend. Track seating is 135,0000.

The No. 33 General Mills Race Car will be on display at the store on Saturday and Sunday mornings. NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer will appear at the store Saturday morning. Giant will raffle passes, tickets and other memorabilia throughout the weekend. Giant promoted the Speedway Supermarket in its circular for the Delaware market.

Giant official declined to give store traffic or sales generated at last fall's weekend racing event. "Our team has worked hard with the Dover Motorsports team to make sure all the needs of NASCAR fans are met. We all look forward to a successful and fun race weekend," said Jamie Miller, Giant's spokesman, in a prepared statement.
