Save Mart Names Manager of Year

MODESTO, Calif. — Save Mart Supermarkets here said Mike Cook, manager of a Lucky store in Oakley, Calif., has won the Nicholas J. Tocco Store Manager of the Year Award. Tocco was a co-founder of Save Mart.

The company said Cook has done "a great job improving his store's performance while giving great customer service and remaining active in the community."

Cook started his grocery career with Lucky Stores in 1988 and remained with the store when it was acquired by Albertsons; he was still there in 2007 when it was acquired by Save Mart and converted back to the Lucky banner.

Nominees for the award must meet the company's standards for store performance, customer service and community involvement.
