HIALEAH, Fla. — Sedano's Supermarkets here said it has launched a year-long celebration to commemorate its 50th anniversary.

According to Agustin Herran, president and chief executive officer, "Sedano's long history in Florida is a true testament to the continued support of our loyal customers. We are filled with an enormous sense of satisfaction knowing that when our customers walk into their local Sedano's store, they feel right at home as they see a little piece of their homeland in every aisle."

Sedano's was founded in 1962 by the Herran and Guerra families. To mark the milestone, the chain unveiled a new 50th anniversary logo that will be used throughout 2012 on all promotions, advertising materials and social media campaigns.

The company also said it will continue the renewal of its 34 stores that began in 2011.
