WAWA, Pa. — Convenience chain Wawa here plans to open as many as 100 stores as part of its expansion to Florida, according to a report in the Orlando Business Journal.

Wawa, the food-focused convenience chain with nearly 600 stores in the Mid-Atlantic states, announced its intention to expand to Florida a year ago.

The chain has scouted sites in the Orlando and Tampa markets, having signed 10 leases already in Orlando, the report said. Stores could open there as soon as next summer.
