Achieving third party audit ratings even higher than last year’s Superior ranking from the American Institute of Baking, 5 Generation Bakers (5GB), manufacturer of Jenny Lee Swirl Breads, has improved its scores since moving into the new production and headquarters facility in early May.

“Last year, we were pleased to earn a 'Superior' rating from the American Institute of Baking, with a score of 905," says Denice Beccard, director of regulatory compliance for 5GB. "This year, in the new facility, we eclipsed even that, with a score of 950.”

In another, independent third party audit by a national chain of “big box” stores using their “small vendor” criteria, 5GB achieved a perfect score of 100 percent. As a part of this audit, the interviewing company conducted employee interviews in which inspectors spoke to employees, as they were working, to ensure that they fully understood and applied HACCP principles where appropriate.

Dana Brackett, president of Brackett Imports, Inc., which represents 5GB to the national chain says, “In my experience, I’ve never encountered [a vendor achieving] a score that high.”

Scott Baker, president and founder of 5GB, adds, “Our ability to achieve these tremendous scores reflects on several things: the design and configuration of our new facility which, from the beginning, was focused upon food safety and efficiency; the training and skill levels of our production team; and the hard work and attention to detail of Denice Beccard.”
