OAK BROOK, Ill. — Dominick's is closing at least three Chicagoland stores, according to local reports.

The company recently closed one location in Orland Park, Ill.; scheduled to close a store in Carpentersville, Ill. on Nov. 12; and slated a Jan. 1 closure for a third location in Oak Lawn, Ill.

Officials at parent company Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., could not be reached for comment.

A Dominick's spokeswoman was quoted on Patch.com as saying the lease had expired on the Oak Lawn store and that it "did not meet sales expectations." A store in Palos Heights will remain open, she said, despite talk of its closure.
