Rich Appoints Executive VP
Products Corp. here has named Donald B. Torgersen executive vice president. He will report to Robert E. Rich Jr., president.
In his new position, Torgersen will assume management responsibility for Rich's logistics and research and development departments. Torgersen joined the frozen foods manufacturer in 1984 as senior vice president of food service-consumer products divisions.
Torgersen will also be responsible for the corporation's consumer products and food service divisions, and wholly owned subsidiaries Byron's Bar-B-Que, Gallatin, Tenn., and Casa Di Bertacchi Corp., Vineland, N.J.
An additional executive change at Rich is the retirement of Herbert R. Kusche, executive vice president. His duties will be assumed by Torgersen, Charles R. Trego Jr. and William G. Gisel Jr. Kusche joined Rich Products in 1945 as a founding associate of the company. He was named executive vice president in 1965. Kusche will continue to serve on Rich's board of directors.
Jack & Jill Names Sales VP
BENSALEM, Pa. -- Jack & Jill Ice Cream Co. here has named Frank Tummarello senior vice president of sales, a new position. Tummarello joined Jack & Jill in 1985 as vice president of sales, and in 1987 was named vice president of retail sales. In his new position he will head all sales divisions for Jack & Jill.
Jack & Jill has also named George Carroll assistant to the president, a new position. Carroll joined the company 15 years ago as a sales representative, and was most recently senior vice president. In his new position, Carroll will continue to assist with food service, while handling special projects for the president.
Carroll and Tummarello report to Jay S. Schwartz, president.
Tom Bloomfield, former sales manager for the Baltimore branch, has returned to headquarters to become director of specialty sales. His main responsibility will be to cater directly to the company's expanding military accounts, club stores and new distribution business.
Jack & Jill Ice Cream distributes its own line of products, as well as national brand ice cream and frozen yogurt to supermarkets, convenience stores, mom and pop stores, institutional and food service accounts from northern New Jersey through Norfolk, Va. The company's products are also distributed in New England and other areas of the country using outside distributors.
