Phillips Joins Fleming Cos.

e Buffalo, N.Y., Retail Group of Fleming Cos. here has named Fred Phillips director of meat/seafood operations, a new position.

The position was created by Fleming's consolidation of its 34 corporately owned Jubilee and Market Basket stores in western New York and northern Pennsylvania.

Phillips previously worked for S.M. Flickinger and Tops Friendly Markets. He reports to John Mac Intyre, president of the Buffalo Retail Group.

In another change arising from the consolidation, Jim Bennink, the current meat supervisor for the Market Basket stores, will report to David Elchynski, marketing director for the Market Basket stores.

Dominick's Adds Group VP Post

NORTHLAKE, Ill. -- Dominick's Finer Foods here has named Bob DiPiazza group vice president of perishables, a new position.

DiPiazza was previously vice president of produce for Dominick's. He reports to Bob Mariano, chief executive officer and president.

DiPiazza's promotion was part of a management restructuring at Dominick's, according to the company. He also is chairman-elect of the Produce Marketing Association.
