BOSTON -- Stop & Shop here is installing a system designed to help users integrate point-of-sale systems and migrate into open computing.

Stop & Shop will use the system for coupon scanning and validation, electronic couponing and labor scheduling. The retailer will also tap into the store systems to retrieve data for use at its corporate office.
